Space Image Science Support/Imagery Analyst IV

Job description:
- Leveraging MATLAB or other Government-approved software suites, state-of-the art image processing techniques, and sensor knowledge, the contractor shall research, develop, test, and deliver tools, techniques, and/or procedures to improve product effectiveness and image quality (e.g., applying an improved Point Spread Function) as prioritized by the Government technical monitor. The contractor shall develop and execute test procedures and provide test results and validation evidence using representative Government-provided datasets to demonstrate correct operation and characterize impacts to image quality and product performance. File output shall be in standard formats including, but not limited to, TIFF-PL, HDF5, and NITF, in accordance with Government specified formatting profiles and metadata requirements. The contractor shall document and deliver all computations, processing steps, parameters, assumptions, and limitations to ensure repeatability and traceability, and shall provide configuration-controlled releases including source code, dependency/build instructions, and release notes. The contractor shall deliver algorithm description documentation, source code, and a user’s manual (and installation/quick-start guidance) for each capability, develop and provide training for any delivered processing tools, and deliver all products to NSIC for Government final acceptance testing. The contractor shall support Government acceptance and implementation by providing technical assistance and resolving identified defects, as directed. All work shall be performed on site and coordinated with the Government technical monitor in accordance with applicable security and network policies.
- The contractor shall design and develop software to post-process electro-optical (EO) data at various levels of fidelity (including empirical studies and results), proof-of-concept EO processing prototypes, operational EO techniques, and transition paths to other data environments and customers/consumers.
- Master’s Degree in Image Science, Electrical Engineering,
Physics, Computer Science, or a related scientific/engineering
discipline plus a minimum of 10+ years of experience in image
science, image processing, remote sensing/sensor
phenomenology, computational imaging, scientific
programming, algorithm development, and analysis, or
equivalent experience/responsibility.
