Expert Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Administrator
Geo Owl is seeking an Expert Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Administrator to support the JGASS mission at Fort Bragg, NC. The selected candidate will provide enterprise-level GIS server administration, geospatial data management, and intelligence systems architecture support within a classified environment. This role requires expert technical proficiency supporting geospatial intelligence operations and mission-critical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform advanced planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise GIS environments, including geospatial databases, servers, network components, and software applications.
Administer, deploy, and sustain open-source and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) GIS server platforms in support of intelligence organizations.
Design, evaluate, and optimize intelligence systems architecture supporting geospatial data discovery, analysis, exploitation, and dissemination.
Manage, integrate, and exploit static and dynamic (streaming) geospatial data across enterprise systems.
Develop and maintain custom automation and analytic scripts, primarily using Python, with working knowledge of C# and Java.
Ensure interoperability and compliance with Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards.
Provide expert-level troubleshooting, performance tuning, and lifecycle sustainment of GIS infrastructure.
Produce technical documentation, system diagrams, and briefings for technical and operational stakeholders.
Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and mission partners to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive GIS server experience supporting enterprise or intelligence environments.
Expert proficiency administering and deploying enterprise-level open-source and COTS GIS server technologies.
Strong scripting and automation skills using Python.
Working knowledge of C# and Java.
Expert-level experience in intelligence systems architecture design and evaluation.
Expert working knowledge of geospatial data discovery, analysis, exploitation, and management within OGC-compliant applications and databases.
High/expert ability to manage and exploit static and dynamic streaming geospatial data.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently in classified, mission-critical environments.
Certifications
Must obtain and maintain the appropriate DoD 8570.01-compliant certification required for the role.
